Example Team Infrastructure for a Injection Molding Plant Three shift operation, 50 total employees, cost center of larger corporation
This example team infrastructure is based on a small facility. The number of project teams and focus teams shown is actually quite large given the total number of employees on site (roughly 60% involvement). Project team membership changes as the project changes - projects are defined and prioritized as part of the site's annual planning process, which involves both the Leadership Team and the cross-functional Planning Team. Team participation is voluntary for project and focus teams, and mandatory for process teams. Hourly employees are allowed up to three hours a week away from the job for team activities, with team leaders being given an additional three hours for 'between meeting' project work. All team costs are built into the operating budget and cost structure for the site. Would you like to learn more about the "Team Effectiveness" workbook?
